ARTISTS STATEMENT

As soon as I saw the IShotMyself website, I knew I wanted to submit my own portfolio! I knew that it was in my duty to contribute my own work, and that I loved and embraced the concept. I was already executing the concept in my work, however, what really stood out to me was the name - I Shot Myself... Even to someone who has never seen or heard anything about the site, the name sounds...interesting...different. Some words that came to my mind were sexy, seductive, assertive, confident, edgy and artsy. All of that, and a little bit naughty! Whatever you may take from this site and its concept - it is definately not the normal blonde-bombshell-fake-tits-and-blowjobs porn that you see on almost every porno website on the world wide web. This is taking pornography to a new level, putting in the hands of creative goddesses (because they are real girls). ISM shows girls you meet everyday, girls you live up the street from, and lets them do what they will with their camera and bits. It is amazing what some of these girls come up with - and it pushes them to make more amazing work than ever done before. I, as one of these artsy girls, can definitely appreciate this website - since it encompasses everything that stands close to me as a woman - sexuality and the female body (naked of course), creativity, diversity and experimenting, and pushing the boundaries, representing and expressing myself in my environment, and being naughty! So you ask, "why did I want to take part in the IShotMyself experience?" To take away as much as I wanted to leave behind, which I most definitely have. This experience was amazing and I would definitely shoot for ISM again.
