| ARTISTS STATEMENT |
I have gathered many messages and thoughts about my body throughout my life. Some of these have been positive and supportive, but many have been very negative and harmful. Staying away from the media's portrayal of the "perfect" or "ideal" woman is a difficult thing to do while living in civilization. While growing up, many of those images and messages seeped into my brain, left to do their damage. This idea of the perfect, prototype body is so unbelievably fucked up, and I hate that it's poison made it's way into me. It breaks my heart that I used to hate my body so much, that so many women hate their bodies. I have healed so much. I love my body. I know and feel that I am beautiful. So here I am. This is who I am beneath my clothes, and I am not ashamed of any of it.
