ARTISTS STATEMENT
Being a practising artist, I already embrace the idea of nudity and the beauty of the human form. In a life drawing class, it is the lines of the figure which are celebrated, however, in photography I found the shapes to be more interesting. Being able to shoot myself as I wished to be portrayed was a most refreshing experience. I became more and more confident with my body the more photos I took. In the beginning I found myself being frustrated by the restrictions caused having to take the photos myself, as I felt so much of what I'd intended to include was lost, but as I kept shooting I realised so many of the angles and shapes that began to surface in these photos would not have been achieved otherwise. I would recommend participating in such a project to all searching for a new and liberating experience.
