ARTISTS STATEMENT

As a pole dance instructor, trapeze artist and burlesque performer, I feel disillusioned and disappointed at the narrow, repetitive and prescriptive ways in which women are often posed, represented and marketed, and constantly seek art that provides more bizarre, bent, idiosyncratic and unique portrayals of the intricate wonders of female sexuality. ISM is a site that continues to inspire and arouse me. I love photography that encapsulates moments of surrender, ecstasy and pleasure and posits female sexuality as nuanced, multiple and diverse. I believe that women are wicked, intelligent and creative, and can do amazing things with their souls and bodies when given the opportunities and camera to do so!
