ARTISTS STATEMENT

When I saw what this project was all about I was truly ecstatic about the idea of photographing myself nude. I've got a background in cinematography and I've always had a bit of an obsession with with pictures of myself so this seemed to be the perfect project for me. The fact that it is me taking the pics and choosing the theme and how I pose made me feel very comfortable. I also think that because of this way of shooting, the final product will appear more intimate, natural, and you will get shots that you wouldn't otherwise get if you were being shot by a typical nude photographer following the same cookie-cutter formula. I tried to get some unit shots and make use of aesthetically pleasing lighting and colour schemes. Overall I think there are some great shots. Can't wait to show it to my parents!
