ARTISTS STATEMENT

This was an interesting concept and project from the start. Most human beings have an innate desire to capture themselves on film, an insatiable ego and vanity we all possess whether we admit it to anyone or not. To do it in our full naked glory is that much more exciting and liberating. Being able to take pictures of myself as I'd like to be seen and not as others would perhaps want to see me has be amazing. This was a work of art and expression, being photographer, subject and director has been trying but also let me tap into creativity I didn't know I had. The female form is captivating regardless of shape, size, colour. It should not to be hidden. I thoroughly enjoyed breaking the mold on this subject, one that society regards as taboo.

Why i shot myself: To see what it would be like to be subject, director and photographer.
who I'd least like to see shoot themselves: Celine Dion, seems very rigid and uptight, though I guess it could be interesting to see if she could loosen up
who I'd most like to see shoot themselves: Dita Von Teese - she has great professional shots and I'd love to see her do it on her own. She's truly an amazing artist and has broken many barriers.

Most outrageous thing I have done: This shoot! It's one thing to keep these pics to myself, quite another to put them on the web! Waking up one day and deciding to pierce my clit!
Bands I like: Madonna, a true chameleon, stays relevant throughout the decades; also Depeche Mode, INXS, Duran Duran - I grew up with these bands.
Books I like: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, For Whom the Bell Tolls, Celestine Prophecies, The Catcher in the Rye.
Films I like: Lost Boys, Catch Me if You Can, Shawshank Redemption, Steel Magnolias.
