ARTISTS STATEMENT

I feel that public nudity is seen as a disgrace in the communities I am familiar with, which has created feelings of shame and embarrassment when it comes to my own body. Doing this project has allowed me to confirm to myself that I've freed myself from the worries of being mocked or judged by others on what I choose to do, or disappointing people. This gave me the opportunity to show myself how I really am; comfortable in my own skin, happy with how I look, expressing myself free from negative influences. No hiding, no censoring. "Life is not worth a damn, till you can shout out 'I am what I am!'"
