ARTISTS STATEMENT

I wasn't there for the bra-burning moments of the sixties, but I see this as a modern day equivalent. Women are still considered objects and we are still repressed enough to see nudity as pornographic instead of natural. I wanted to prove to myself and others that captured nudity doesn't have to be pornographic or "wrong" or "bad". I also saw this as a good opportunity to see my own body a bit differently and awaken the goddess aspect of myself. We can be very critical of our reflections in the mirror so I think it's good to try and view yourself from other angles. It's empowering, exciting and fun!
