ARTISTS STATEMENT

Hi my name is Sanguine Bolshevik. I felt empowered taking these photos of myself at this time - just after the full moon's magnetic power has blessed us all. I love to feel the strength of womanhood when I bleed and the confidence I feel when it's that time of the month. Red is such a bold and beautiful colour too so I used the colour in my shots with the red and orange floral curtains on the French doors, a burgundy towel and my dark red waist length hair. A rocking chair featured in some of the shots on the verandah outside the French doors leading from my bedroom - I love the patterns that the chair and verandah had with all the straight lines and rambutan. I look out onto a beautifully maintained oval from this verandah, such a peaceful and meditative part of the bustling town that buzzes a couple of blocks away.
