ARTISTS STATEMENT

As you mature your self-confidence and self love grows. I feel very comfortable with myself and I really enjoy myself and who I am. I think the naked body is exquisite and photography can capture beautiful imagery but also alter it so a different view may be witnessed. I think public nudity needs to be accepted more - this may happen when people accept themselves for who they are. To be a part of this project gave me the opportunity to love my body more and to become more aware of it. I definitely recommend the experience! ///// 2022 UPDATE: I made a folio in my late 20's for ISM and also nude photos for friend's art projects and feel so much more in my body now with all its marks from the journey through life so far. I want to push up against the common thought that still surrounds beauty - that youthfulness is revered and chased, but I see wisdom just as beautiful, especially as our youth fades. The lines in my face deepen and my belly softens, but with this comes a maturity and the stories of my life begin to shine through. I guess doing this shoot was somewhat of an activism for aging, that what we are fed in the media isn't real, we are in a body that grows and changes and morphs itself into a vessel with experiences beyond that of youth.
