ARTISTS STATEMENT

I am a spiritual and natural person and I wanted my shoot to reflect these aspects of my personality. For that reason I wore no makeup or jewellery. I did not want something to contrast against the blue of the sea and the earth tones of the cliffs. The red ribbon stands out well and can be left to fall over the body by the wind. It gives the viewer an idea of how blustery it was on the cliffs in some of the photos and increases the sense of freeness. I was spotted by some fishermen, but once I explained what I was doing neither they nor I seemed to mind and they left me to it. In all it was a very enjoyable experience and it allowed me to explore colour and composition in photography, a new interest of mine.
