ARTISTS STATEMENT

I knew it would be difficult to shoot myself: difficult to find techniques and angles to give decent and varied shots with the camera no more than arm's length away. The challenge I didn't anticipate was in shooting a set that honestly represented me, and how I wanted to be seen, rather than taking my cues from other artists on the site, or trying to shoot what I thought others would want to see. I like to look at these photos, so I count this as a success.
