ARTISTS STATEMENT

This folio became more important to me than I thought it would by the end. After the first few photos I stopped worrying about all the flaws I know are on my skin and how much I usually dislike my body. Most of my self expression throughout my life has been through drawing. This was my first real step into photography and I am honestly going to go buy a camera. I've never had much involvement with nudity before in any way. I've never been against nudity, I just never had a reason to care. So to go from nothing to doing a nude shoot was nothing short of throwing myself in the deep end and I loved it.

I like to watch: Horror movies or Youtube! They provide a lot of inspiration for the stories that float around in my head waiting to be written
I like to smell: I haven't had a sense of smell for several years but from memory, moss
I like to taste: Potatoes. Hands down the best food on the planet. Followed closely by cinnamon rolls
I like to feel: My bed. Comfiest place and feeling ever. If I could stay in bed forever I would
favourite part of my body: My shoulders. No idea why, I just like them
favourite part of someone else's body: Jawlines. My gender envy for a good jawline is real
Why i shot myself: It sounds kind of stupid but because I've never been comfortable in my body I figured I may as well get something out of it.

who I'd most like to see shoot themselves: My best friend. She has so much body confidence and I would love to see how that translates into photos
Most outrageous thing I have done: Wore a halloween costume to work for a week before halloween because they wouldn't let us put up halloween decorations
Bands I like: Lovejoy, Caravan Palace, Lemon Demon. None are Aussie but I don't think I listen to many Aussie bands on a regular basis?
Books I like: The Scholomance series by Naomi Novik is my favourite. 3 books of wanting nothing but the best for the grumpy brooding teenage protagonist. Definitely didn't inspire an entire DND campaign I ran...
Films I like: Coraline is my favourite movie of all time, followed by Donnie Darko and Pan's Labyrinth
