ARTISTS STATEMENT

I found myself struggling with Ishotmyself initially, holding the camera felt uncomfortable and I was simply shy. However being alone in my own room offered a unique opportunity to relax and just play around with the camera. I have always been a more reserved person and a year ago a shoot like this would have been out of the question. This project pushed my comfort levels in the best way. I studied art at uni and part of my course was nude life drawing. These classes were some of the best and this shoot reminded me of that in a way. Ishotmyself forced me to be less critical of myself, the photos couldn't turn out "perfect" but I think that's the point.

Most outrageous thing I have done: A cross country night ride on my motorbike to visit my Mum. The bike ran out of fuel 5km away so I pushed it
