ARTISTS STATEMENT
Shooting a folio for ISM was unlike any experience I've ever had before. Most of the time, women are told to look absolutely perfect for a camera. There's not usually a lot of acceptance around scars, birthmarks, razor burn, stubble. However, in shooting with I Shot Myself, I found I could embrace, and even showcase, every single one of my so-called "flaws" with self-love and share them with the wonderful, open-minded people who subscribe to their website. It was a truly freeing experience to photograph myself in a way I never have before, without a stitch of makeup, hair wet, feeling completely at home in my body.
