ARTISTS STATEMENT
Personally I don't typically even like taking a photo of my face let alone my bare naked body. So in the same way this made me slightly nervous and would push me out of my comfort zone, I also knew I just had to give it a go! Ever since I moved to Melbourne from the country, the city life took it out of my body. For the first time in 3-4 years I'm not underweight and am actually being aware of what my body needs to help me fuel my day. A big part of this mentally for me is getting used to seeing a different body in the reflection of the mirror, that's why after getting all the information about the I shot myself project I knew this would be something that could really help the perception I have of my body in my head. After taking some time to get in the groove, a broken mirror and a rash from rolling around in the grass I finally started to feel more comfortable in front of the camera. It actually became really enjoyable to feel the sun on all parts of my skin. I spent the whole day naked or just in my robe and I think I need to do this way more often!

favourite part of someone else's body: Eyes. Sometimes people's eyes are so beautiful I want to keep them like marbles
Why i shot myself: I decided to participate in I shot myself because I needed something to help me feel more comfortable in my own skin.
who I'd least like to see shoot themselves: My person I would least like to see shoot themselves in my Dad lol
who I'd most like to see shoot themselves: I would most like to see my Mum shoot herself. Four kids and she looks amazing. I think all women should take time to appreciate the bodies that carried new humans into this world
Most outrageous thing I have done: When I was volunteering at fashion week. Volunteers were not supposed to be allowed backstage during the runway. I borrowed a pass and snuck in. I got caught by my volunteer coordinator. She was so impressed with my commitment to see the shows she took me to the front row seat with her! The show was insane
Bands I like: Lately I've been enjoying a lot of UK female artists. Women like Jorja Smith and IAMDDB. Although I will admit my all time favourite artist is Amy Winehouse - she never gets old!
Books I like: I am currently reading one book - Your Own Kind of Girl by Clare Bowditch. I also love Lost Connections and a classic called Milk and Sugar - they are all really captivating books with a common thread of trying to find your place in this world
Films I like: I usually find it hard to concentrate on the storyline in TV series or movies. Documentaries are always my first pick. Anything crime related
