ARTISTS STATEMENT

At the end of last year I tore my meniscus and had to have knee surgery which put all my exercise on hold - no yoga, no crossfit, no netball. Watching my body become a little softer, less toned, my lady belly grow a bit more, has been an interesting and mindful experience. The shoot gave me an opportunity to love and embrace my body now, extra dimples and all. I'm a global citizen having grown up in Australia, South Africa, and England and this has enabled me to be at "home" with many different people, situations and environments. However it's hard to feel rooted. I love change. With my time you'll find me crossfitting, doing yoga, games night with friends, hiking, scuba diving, hanging with my cat Jasper and travelling - next trip is to Iceland. In the last year or so I've been dropping into my feminine more, my natural energy and tendency is quite yang and masculine, so its been beautiful for me to have the feminine coming through and having space to rule more. The shoot was very much part of this too.
