ARTISTS STATEMENT

Essere una donna oggi significa far fronte a una moltitudine di aspettative e preconcetti che la societa' si aspetta facciano parte della tua persona o delle tue amibizioni future. Per questo, appena ho sentito parlare del progetto di Ishotmyself mi sono subito innamorata della causa. Trovo molto interessante l'idea di riscoprire se stessi e il proprio corpo attraverso un processo artistico. Reinventare se stessi e l'immagine che abbiamo di noi stessi slegata da ogni preconcetto culturale o di altro tipo ci rende piu simili, piu umani e allo stesso tempo celebra le nostre diversita' in quanto persone. / Being a woman nowadays means coping with a multitude of preconceptions and expectations that falls on us and forces us to be make them a part of us so we don't feel excluded or different. For this reason when I heard about the Ishotmyself project I suddenly fell in love with the purpose. I found it very interesting the idea of discovering a new or different me and my nudity through the artistic process. Reinventing ourselves and the image that we have of ourselves unrelated to any cultural preconception on one hand makes us more similar and human, on the other hand it celebrates our diversity as individuals.
