ARTISTS STATEMENT

Making these images was totally liberating! As a life model I'm used to being looked at but rarely do I take a moment to look at myself. Being nude doesn't phase me at all but taking pictures of my vulva was a totally new experience for me. ISM allowed me to experience my body in a whole new way. I had the privacy of a beautiful bedroom and was fortunate enough for the golden hour light to gently stroke my skin. I think that being with ourselves in this was is very important and we should all do it more. Our bodies are incredible things and especially as women we don't celebrate them enough. Shooting this was very much about making myself feel good and even brought out a cheeky side I've rarely seen before.
