ARTISTS STATEMENT

My life is a learning journey and as I celebrate getting older, the wisdom you accumulate is profound and so special. I shot myself because along my journey I have also learnt so much about myself and continue to do so everyday. One of the things I have learnt is how to get to know and love me; after all the strongest relationship you can have is with yourself, right? Through learning about myself I have accepted my physical body too and I wanted to celebrate my body as it tells my story, every line on my face marks the laughter I have shared with my loved ones, the one too many late nights, the time with my face to the sun. My naked body shows passion, vulnerability and a snapshot of where I am right now. My tattoos are mile markers on moments in my life, some well thought out, some not so much. The scars show when my physical body was hurt, but the hurt healed along with my mind. These photos show my personality of a romantic a dreamer and a learner.
