ARTISTS STATEMENT

I've always had fun taking nudes to send to my partners. Almost always, it's me in a private place, taking three or four photos I think they'd get a kick out of, so it was interesting to focus on myself this time. I relaxed in my room on a gorgeous, overcast Melbourne day and loved being creative with my body. I've always been relatively happy with how I look, and pretty comfortable with walking around naked. I sleep naked and would never wear clothes if it wasn't so frowned upon (lol) but I've never thought I was photogenic, even avoiding taking photos and dodging my friend's selfies. I shot myself forced me to push past that silly self-consciousness and really be proud of how I looked because I was so in control of the entire shoot.
