ARTISTS STATEMENT

Like the vast majority of people, I spent a very long period of my life feeling very at odds with my body and self. Having now fortunately reached a point where I can not merely tolerate myself, but actually feel love for myself and confidence in my appearance, contributing to Ishotmyself felt like the perfect opportunity to express this. Most important for me now is acknowledging that I am the orchestrator of my own image and there is not only one way for me or anyone else to feel beautiful or sexy. I believe becoming comfortable with being naked and nudity in general are a crucial part of this, whether in sexual situations or otherwise, and that if we were to break down some of the stigma around seeing a diversity of naked bodies, it would help many people cultivate more positive attitudes towards themselves.
