I've always had a love/hate relationship with my body. When I was a kid, my opinion of myself was based entirely upon what others thought of me. If someone said I had nice legs, I believed them. If someone said my nose was "too big" I believed them. I picked out my clothes and makeup based on what I thought others wanted. I hid my insecurities. My self esteem was constantly fluctuating, but usually very low. When I was 18 I discovered nude beaches. I felt so inspired by all the people embracing their bodies. At first it felt unnatural for me to expose every inch of my body to so many people. But over time I started to feel all my insecurities getting washed away. I learned to feel proud of my body. I learned to be proud of who I am.
