ARTISTS STATEMENT

I decided to do I shot myself because I had missed taking nude pictures of myself which I used to do a lot more when I was growing up and experimenting with my own image. It feels very different to take these pictures now that I am older, wiser and have a firm grip on my own queer femme identity and sexuality. It also feels different being in a long term relationship and expressing myself this way, reaffirming the body confidence I feel rather than using nudes to receive quick validation or an ego boost. The sexiest part of I shot myself to me is the sheer confidence you can see exuding from all the people on here, and that's why I'm grateful to be a part of this project.
