ARTISTS STATEMENT

This project was important to me because I wanted to improve my relationship with myself and my body. I wanted to view it in a different way, without touch ups or colours, just the way it is. I don't feel like people take a good look at themselves when they take their clothes off, I don't feel that we truly take the time to appreciate the curves, pigmentation and style of our bare bodies. The pressure of looking our best has put a lot of negativity on body image, such as what's acceptable or what trend you must follow, that pressure takes the beauty away from your soul and your body. I think the most beautiful girls out there are the ones in their real element, after a long day of work, just waking up or getting out of the shower. This project has tested my boundaries within sexuality, it made me enjoy it more and made me more courageous, to be able to be so confident in myself from my deepest core, means I can be confident with layers on my body. :)
