ARTISTS STATEMENT

My reason for participating in ISM started out as a way to take me out of my comfort zone. However in preparing for the shoot I realised I was less worried about my size, marks and imperfections and more worried about time. For me my shoot became about confronting the ticking clock that echos in the mind of women in their 30's. That constant reminder that my body has an inbuilt series of timers that force me to face things I am not ready for. I can't say the shoot silenced the 'tick tick ticking' but it did focus my attention and compel me to accept that there are things out of my control...even my own body!
