ARTISTS STATEMENT

I'm so bored of hating my body. I know why I do, I know how this began and why it continues but this awareness hasn't contributed to losing this hatred. Forcing myself to view my body as a set of interesting/beautiful/hilarious shapes, instead of a whole entity has helped me appreciate elements of it. I find it hard to not mock my body, but this shoot calmed the judgement part of my brain and I focused instead on enjoying the absurdity of what I was doing. My body is playful, strong, wonderful, weird, soft, marked, hurt, fragile and I hope one day loved.
