ARTISTS STATEMENT

For most of my life nudity was taboo. But to get naked alone is such a powerful feeling! It's not about who is looking at you or even what you look like, it's about the beauty of nature and the human body itself! I feel like everybody is beautiful, flaws and all. In fact, it is often the imperfections that can make a person more beautiful! Commercialism would have you believe that you only look good naked if you have a perfect body, and the media and advertising leads us to believe that you should buy their products or procedures to achieve this or buy their clothes to cover your problem areas. I'm not saying people shouldn't do these things if they feel it will make them more confident but only if they want to, not because they feel pressured to be perfect. I think this pressure is changing the way that we as a society see beauty, making us have much too high standards and expectations, not only of ourselves but everyone else. When you think about how radically different some cultures view their beauty ideals (from things like filed down sharp teeth to implants in your face or a stretched lip or gold rings around your neck) you can see that beauty ideals are extremely varied and really can be in the eye of the beholder. I want to help affect change in society by being brave and celebrating my nudity! Because no matter what shape or size, all of our bodies are art! A confident person with flabby bits strutting their stuff is much more sexy than an insecure person with a perfect body who is a wall flower... so get out there everybody and strut your stuff!

I like to taste: Avocados - after dancing til the sun comes up at a festival, this is the best taste ever!
I like to feel: Velvet. Especially when you hug a friend and get to stroke them on their lovely soft jacket
favourite part of my body: My freckles. Yes the very thing I hated most of my life and the thing kids picked on me for in school is now what I love! I love my spots, they make me feel beautiful like a dappled cheetah
favourite part of someone else's body: The touch of their skin under my fingertips. Especially on those soft areas of the body. Let me stroke your inner elbow for hours please!

who I'd most like to see shoot themselves: Everyone and anyone! Especially people who are insecure and want to feel better about themselves! If I had to pick one person I would probably say Keanu Reeves. He is my twin flame
my website/fav website: I like making things from Instructables.com - things I could buy but they are even more special when I make them myself. Currently I'm making a Svongo Hank drum from a gas cylinder
Most outrageous thing I have done: Fire breathing performance in front of thousands of people
Bands I like: Tool, Infected Mushroom, Pink Floyd, The Eagles, even ABBA and lots of eclectic things from every era since the 70's til now. I have a lot of musician friends too I love their music!
Books I like: Memoirs of a Geisha, The Art of War, true stories and biographies written by interesting people like those with multiple personality disorder, I also love medical journals and science literature!
Films I like: Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, science fiction movies that touch on concepts of time and space, fifth dimensions, blackholes and entropy
