ARTISTS STATEMENT

At 13-14 I was told I should lose 5lbs and taught myself how to be bulimic just to win a guy's approval. I battled with my eating disorder for 12-13 years. Hours of therapy, talks with friends/family, relationships took a toll, it wasn't until I was 25 that I finally decided that enough was enough. I started my yoga teacher training course and stopped cold turkey. I dove into self-love with myself and came out on top. Body image will always linger in my mind, but it's how I choose to react to my body that I have changed. I have my low days, but I never went back. I began a strong yoga practice and became very open to talking about my eating disorder. I love my body and am thankful every day to what it does for me.

Why i shot myself: Because I have never felt comfortable in my skin, even in pictures with clothes on
who I'd least like to see shoot themselves: Someone who was forced into it
who I'd most like to see shoot themselves: Anyone who feels comfortable in their own skin

Most outrageous thing I have done: Went into the Amazon for 2.5 weeks without any background; quitting my corporate job and buying a one way ticket to Asia and never looking back
