ARTISTS STATEMENT

By and large I am bashful about my appearance and shy when it comes to revealing it. Having now completed The Project - and having been thrust entirely out of my comfort zone - I am glad to have shucked away my diffidence, along with my clothes, in the photo shoot. I enjoyed enormously the experience of Shooting Myself, and became enamoured of the thrill accompanying the shutterclick and the knowledge that another picture - another angle to myself - was available for exhibition. Nudity helps one re-tune one's natural instincts (being, obviously, the most natural state), and I found it exhilarating for this very raw part of myself to be captured. So now I might think about Shooting Myself more often...
