ARTISTS STATEMENT

I've always had a very complicated relationship with my body so when I was faced with the opportunity to be involved with the ishotmyself project it gave me an an opportunity to really look at my body and come to peace with what I see. I have always been big and over the last six years have dropped 50kgs. I always thought that I would automatically love my body when I reached my ideal size or weight but when I got there, I saw a body covered in stretch marks and skin that is 3 sizes bigger than my body, so my relationship is a work in progress still but I now choose to see my imperfections as a representation of how far I've come and motivation to working forward loving my body.
