ARTISTS STATEMENT

I'm originally from the UK and have traveled extensively. I've seen some beautiful places and met some unbelievable people on the journey. I definitely feel that the more I become comfortable in new places and less terrified of new experiences the more comfortable I become in my own skin and the more content I am with myself and my body. Last year in New Zealand I was lucky enough to live with seven beautiful women of all shapes and ages and during the summer we created a bit of a nudist commune whilst camping in the countryside and visiting festivals. It got to the point where it actually felt a bit of a hassle to get dressed to go into town to do the shopping. It was a hugely freeing experience being able to live without the shame and embarrassment that we are expected to associate with our bodies and since then I have a completely different outlook and relationship with how I feel about my body. Before I think I used to complain and wish I had a different nose, legs, tummy etc. Which seems weird now because the individuality of it is what makes it beautiful. It's the only one we have so we might as well love every part of it, even the bits that are a bit lumpy bumpy.
