ARTISTS STATEMENT
To me, being naked gives me a sense of freedom. However, I have a skin condition which means that I often have ugly rashes, scars and cuts all over myself. Not only is this detrimental for my self-esteem, but it means that when people see me naked, they get worried by how ill I sometimes look. This isn't how I want people to see me. Someone recently opened up to me about having the same conditions that I have because he was inspired by how open and honest I was about it and he thanked me for making him feel less alone. This is why I wanted to do this shoot, to help people realize that what people see as their imperfections are actually the things that make them unique and beautiful. I can't cure myself but I can accept how I am and I want other people to be able to do that too.
