ARTISTS STATEMENT

Growing up, photography was a big part of our lives with Dad. One room of the house was a permanent darkroom and there was another room with a natural back drop always in place. From this, I have formed a deep appreciation for raw, unedited photos. Most of all the female form and the use of natural lighting. Recently my body has become "comfortable", no longer gym fit with the miss use of alcohol, cigarettes and other unhealthy habits. I used to shoot glamour and edit out insecurities. For me to shoot myself and hand over raw cellulite and tired eyes for my folio. It was a daring thing to do. Reflecting, I think this experience has empowered me.My shoot was like the confession of my real body, my real emotion, the real me. It's erotic but its art. Art isn't perfect.
