ARTISTS STATEMENT

I used to have issues with my body - which I think is pretty normal for any young girl. This has slowly disintegrated throughout the years. I realised what was real through all the bullshit by learning about feminism and generally looking at society and everything we're taught through a different lens. I think the whole thing became so taboo we - in general but women especially, were made to feel embarrassed to embrace our bodies and our sexuality. Sexuality, gender, it's all part of our identity and it blows my mind that anyone would want to make someone else feel uncomfortable about it. Personally I'm glad I figured this out young so I didn't spend my adult years uncomfortable. This, I can totally thank my awesome mama for.

Why i shot myself: I thought it was an awesome project and an empowering way to portray my body being completely comfortable. Plus, I love doing photography however, I'm always behind the camera!
who I'd most like to see shoot themselves: Mila Kunis and Angelina Jolie because they're beautiful but also someone like Grayson Perry, I feel his photos would be really interesting

Most outrageous thing I have done: Did a reverse bungee jump; at 20, left my home and everything else with no intentions of going back anytime soon
