ARTISTS STATEMENT

As a romanticist, a feminist, a creative intellectual and most importantly, a human being, I strongly believe in the power and beauty of the body we have been given. In such a hideously judgmental and image obsessed society we must prioritize loving ourselves. We are intended to be exactly as we are and that is perfect! We are mother nature's creatures and there should be no shame in how we look and THIS is the inspiration that drove me to shoot myself. I am proud of my quirky imperfections. I am not afraid to love myself. My body is entirely unique and therefore my body should be celebrated. I shot myself to take charge of this fact!
