ARTISTS STATEMENT

Having developed my voluptuous curves at a very early age, I was always ashamed and embarrassed to be 'bigger' and different to my peers. I covered myself up, not wanting to be judged. Even well into my teens it was evident that I would never be the tall, thin, slim woman the media portrayed as what every man wanted. And so the quest began for the illusive magic pill or diet which would magically transform me into the beautiful woman I seemed surrounded by. Fast forward 25 years and I have finally come to the realization that everyone is naturally beautiful and sexy but our shine dims when we don't believe we are enough. This project has inspired me to embrace my curves, my rolls, my freckles (those kisses from the sun) as my own unique canvas and has also allowed me to move on from a violent relationship and start a fresh in a new state with renewed confidence in myself. I am grateful for this experience which has allowed me to express my body and enjoy the thrill of being naked in public and see that everyone is completely different but still uniquely beautiful in their own way.
