ARTISTS STATEMENT

I think that bodily autonomy and being comfortable in yourself are really important things that a lot of people struggle with. My self esteem wasn't great as a teen, and it wasn't until I was 19 and started gogo dancing and modelling that I started to realise that no matter what flaws I felt my body had, I could do beautiful things with it. The realisation that it wasn't just something that I used to get around but a physical manifestation of my inner self changed my perspective on it, made me appreciate and value it. Accepting that imperfections are what make us unique made me bolder, more confident with my nudity and my sexuality, and has had an amazing impact on how I see myself and how I interact with the world around me. Love starts inside yourself, and by not shying away from all the miracles and twists of fate that built you from the atoms up, you feel so much more like a part of the cosmos and thankful for being exactly what you are. I have so much love in my life now and it's all because I got semi-nude on stage and learned to dig it.

I like to listen to: The sound of rain against windows or a roof, it makes me feel so relaxed and smug
I like to watch: My cheeky Devon Rex kitten Molly Millions do barrel rolls for tummy rubs
I like to smell: My new Yog Nog soap from Lush. It's so good I literally just sit there smelling it
I like to taste: Earl grey tea. I drink 4 - 10 cups a day, it's my happy place
I like to feel: When my hair is long enough to tickle my lower back. I had to cut it short a few years ago
favourite part of my body: My torso. I love the way it goes in at my waist then curves out over my hips, makes me feel like a goddess
favourite part of someone else's body: Where their neck joins their shoulder, it's the best place to bury your face and nuzzle
Why i shot myself: It seemed like a really fun way to play around with the exhibitionist side of my personality

Most outrageous thing I have done: Being fingerbanged and spanked by an Austrian industrial singer against a bar in Perth on the Easter long weekend. My partner at the time high-fived me
Bands I like: Right now I'm obsessed with Grimes, Purity Ring and Enya, because they're so floaty but powerful.
Books I like: Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson is probably my favourite, because cyberpunk grittiness, mafia-owned pizza franchises, and Babylonian mythology are some of my favourite things.
Films I like: All of the Ghost In The Shell movies, anything Sophia Coppola, and Supernatural. I know Supernatural is technically a tv show but holy shit I'm so obsessed right now I don't even care.
