ARTISTS STATEMENT

We came into this world naked, why is it we have become so alienated from the one thing that is completely innate? We originally existed that way in nature, it's as though we have lost touch with what is natural to us. We have become detached and I feel as though we have to reconnect with that in our current society on a collective level. When it comes to women and nudity in the media, especially the internet, has portrayed the feminine body in a way that is to be gawked at. It is what it is but I wish we would move past that. We are the givers and creators of life, it is something to be admired, it is sacred! In the photographs I took, I wanted it to be in nature to embody it in way. I also moved and used poses that felt natural. And also to be a little silly :).

I like to listen to: Soul, folk, jazz, blues, reggae, glitch hop, Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, Ella Fitzgerald. Too many!
I like to watch: A fire, the stars on a clear night and movies sometimes
I like to smell: Jasmine flowering in spring, a damp rain forest, musky wood and the ocean breeze
I like to taste: Chocolate, fruit, Indian and Thai cuisine. Oh, and I love coffee
I like to feel: Velvet, moss on trees and clay when making sculptures. I tend to touch a lot of things!

Why i shot myself: To get out of my comfort zone and shoot myself in an artistic unique way.

Most outrageous thing I have done: Hang of the side of a sail boat in a race, as I nearly fell off!
Bands I like: Cat Empire, Cheshire, Little Dragon, Bonobo, Deep Forest, Nahko, Sigur Ros, Angus & Julia Stone, Alt-J, The Beatles, The Doors, Pink Floyd. Too many!
Books I like: The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. I don't read a lot though!
Films I like: Monty Python series, English comedy (Death at a Funeral), foreign films. I can never think of many when asked!
