ARTISTS STATEMENT

I create, that's what I do. This project falls right in line with my politics and my art, so it seemed natural to be a part of it. I'm a raging feminist, I like being naked, I have a big ego and I'm in love with my camera. My bed is right next to a window and I leave the shade up when I go to sleep so the sun will wake me up in the morning. On the weekends I wake up and shift so I'm lying in the window light, sometimes lounging with my kitty. For my folio, I decided to shoot by the window, so I could interact with this light. This is not the first time I've shot myself, and it won't be the last. Photographing myself is a way to experience my body in a way I don't get to everyday - being able to look at images of myself gives me perspective I don't otherwise have, and holding the camera gives me control over whats being seen.
