ARTISTS STATEMENT

Women's bodies are beautiful. As a challenge to the manufactured, airbrushed, anorexic mannequins who grace the glossy magazines, I wanted to present a real female form - in all its weirdness and grotesque possibilities of shape and angle. Define beauty. Define erotic. Do you believe the mass media? Nudity can be very powerful. The female body has been distorted and exploited for too long. I wanted to reclaim individuality through presenting myself and discovering the diverse images my own body can be found to produce.
