Poppy_s never saw herself reflected in the mainstream pornographic image. She defined her image through her own lens, and captured more than just her physical form. What emerged was a dance of binaries: private and public, hidden and revealed, sexualised and raw, represented literally in black, white and shades of grey. With her aura rich in peace and tranquility, she evokes dreams of the kind of hot summer days that seamlessly flow into fervid summer nights. Stirring memories of cycling to meet a lover, arriving sticky with a racing heart, solitary moments of bliss spent sprawled under the protective canopy of treetops, this folio has us longing for the first kiss of the sun's rays. Mia muses in magenta. Turning her camera to her body, she discovers its rawness through a new lens. She breaks plant stems to release the foamy sap, letting it mingle with intimate hairs and pinching the stems between her toes. Fluffy cream smears over her bellybutton, lipstick brightens lips, coconut oil readies her partner for a massage.
