"For a long time I've been fairly comfortable taking photos of my body - it's something I've often done in my own time. So I was surprised when I found this project harder than I thought I would! I am quite a perfectionist, so taking so many photos in a constrained environment was a real challenge. But upon reflection I am happy with the way the shoot turned out. I focused a lot on different angles and the different shapes my body could make - it was interesting to experiment in this sense! I do love how I was able to showcase my natural body. I find that with my grown out body hair and the fact that I often wear very little or no makeup that it is very liberating. I have less insecurities, and I do think my confidence in my body comes out in this shoot. I hope that showcasing my body in its natural state reminds people that choosing not to shave is nothing to be ashamed of and can be so empowering! Bodies are beautiful no matter what or how you choose to present yourself and I hope people in the future feel less pressured to conform to society's generalisation of "how" a women or man or any gender in general should look."
