"I shot my second folio for ISM one overcast day in Seattle. These photos are taken with my book collection, which represents a good part of who I am. I can't get into reading books on tablets or online, and will always be a fan of the smell, feel, and physicality of real books. As John Waters famously said, 'If you go home with somebody and they don't have books, don't fuck them."

"I shot in my bedroom by the warmth of my heater, which shielded me from the cold outside weather. I'm a dancer so some of the shots were of me exploring the different positions I could make with my body. It made for an interesting way to see myself."

Lola J is locked out of the house, but fortunately, she’s got everything she needs for a gorgeous afternoon photoshoot - and we do mean everything. Down to the last raspberry in the punnet, Lola J makes excellent use of her time - we only wish we were the ones coming home to let her in.

"It was so refreshing being naked at the beach! I just felt so free with my body and the sand. There was this old guy watching and my friend ran off down the beach with my dress - my only piece of clothing I had. Awful person! It's funny though, it takes you about 5 mins to get used to nakedness and then you just don't care.”

Art_emis' lemons are not quite ripe for the picking and although she's sure they're not quite sweet enough to eat, Art_emis is never one to play by the rules. To her, nothing is as sweet as reading the last page of a book first and the sound of wrappers unwrapping and popcorn popping in the cinema. At HQ, we think Art_emis may be sweet enough already.
