"I shot myself in my own backyard, which is falling apart and filthy, but that didn't stop me from trying to be as glamorous as possible. I wanted to make the metaphor of how I see my experience in the sex industry. There may be aspects of it that are trapped in the past and falling apart but the girls always manage to shine on, and do what they want to do. Women making the choice to work in this world are not oppressing themselves, but instead are taking something rotten and turning it into beauty for their own empowerment. Just like my backyard is full of rotten wood, rust and dirt, I can still turn it into something beautiful. What I am trying to say is that in order to criticise the adult industry, don't blame the working girls who aren't exploiting anyone. Expressing our sexuality is incredibly empowering and a beautiful thing to do."

"While sitting around watching hentai, I decided that It would be dress up like the anime characters! I have lots of cute outfits, so I had lots of choice but my favourite is the cat outfit with the collar and little bell. My cat really liked that and tried to join in with a few of my booty shots."

"It took me a while to get used to the feeling of being naked in these photos, as I usually hate photos. Some of the photos were done in public; one of them was down an alleyway and as I was getting happy snappy an old couple walked around the corner. I didn't notice them until they walked past me and I was so embarrassed I didn't know what to do! I quickly got dressed, grabbed my stuff and ran down the alley way. It was so awkward when they stopped to ask me what I was doing. With my folio, I tried to capture the sexy, powerful, beautiful, fun, seductive me, which I believe I achieved. This was one of the most fun and outrageous things I have ever done."

"One of my passions is travelling. That was the starting point for this photoshoot. The feeling of movement, the feeling of the road... I photographed myself in the empty car in a parking area so I felt that the photoshoot was a dream about travelling. The dream about being free, waking up without plans, only carrying a backpack, a hat and couple of fresh fruits with you./ Yksi intohimoistani on matkustaminen. Kuvasin itseni tyhjassa autossa parkkipaikalla, joten tuntui kuin kuvaushetki olisi ollut unelma matkustamisesta. Unelma vapaudesta, heraamisesta ilman suunnitelmia, vain reppu, hattu ja pari hedelmaa mukana."

"I luckily got to shoot in my friend's beautiful art studio, and it helped so much! I enjoyed the whole atmosphere and it just seemed natural to me. I never used to express nudity too much, but I didn't feel uncomfortable or feel weird at any point in the shoot. I also think this shoot was a good way for me to get a better understanding of what my body looks like. Of course I took some pictures I wasn't happy with at all, but then I took some more and was surprised by how much I liked them. Obviously it's always nice to have good pictures of yourself, but I reckon it's a little different if it's a nude. A stunning nude picture of yourself can give you so much more confidence!"

"Every time the room overlooking the courtyard is empty, I jump on the opportunity to take naked selfies in the backyard. I'm forever posting nude photos of myself on the internet so this shoot was all too familiar. I hope my neighbours saw."

Emelia shows today how to make the most of the Hands Free technique. The rustic barn makes a wonderful backdrop, and the slowly moving light really highlights her physique while giving us a sense of passing time.

"Through these photos, I tried to transmit my belief that the body is beautiful just how it is: natural, meaningful and harmonious. In my perspective, it looks so gracious, especially in a natural background. In this context, I felt to be connected with everything around me as if I actually was integrated to that beautiful landscape. I loved the sensation of freedom, joy and satisfaction with myself. In other pictures, I explored my artistic side, doing a puzzle body painting. It symbolizes not only how perfectly the parts of our body are connected but also that we are biologically composed by units or pieces (cells, molecules, atoms) like other things in our world, showing once more that we are connected to everything around us."

"To begin with, I was intrigued to see how I would respond to the shoot - I didn't know if I would be fine or find it confronting. After doing the shoot, I found it liberating. I found that the more pictures I took, the more I appreciated my body."

"Being in nature seemed to be the best spot to shoot myself privately. It was harder than I thought to find such a place... People looked weirdly at me as I walked into the forest and climbed up a mountain with a mirror. After a while I stopped caring about people passing by and looking at me as if they have never seen a nude person before. I gained confidence. Irgendwo in der Natur zu sein, schien mir der beste Ort um fuer mich zu sein waehrend ich dieses Fotoshooting mache. Es war schwerer als ich dachte so einen Platz zu finden. Die Menschen denen ich begegnete guckten mich merkwuerdig an waehrend ich mit dem Spiegel in den Wald lief und auf einen Berg kletterte. Nach einer Weile konnte ich die Menschen und ihre Blicke ignorieren, die mich ansahen als haetten sie noch nie jemanden nacktes gesehen. Ich gewann Selbstvertrauen."

"The shoot started out pretty slow as I was thinking of what to do, what poses, what angles and trying to come up with a good variety of poses and ideas. Once I really started trying stuff out the process started to flow a lot more. Due to it being winter, it was bloody cold and the ground was wet from the rain the day before so every time I moved, my feet sank into the ground and made a squelchy sound. (I know. There is no sexier sound on earth...) Despite being numb from the cold by the end I had a great time and am excited for you to see my folio."
