"I had a very interesting experience trying to just have fun and to come up with new ideas. I enjoyed looking at my body through a camera and thinking about it as a piece of art. Every time I did a session of shooting, I felt different that day."

"So my shoot was actually like 5 shoots over a week. I took the photos in winter and trying to look poised was a laugh. I did some of the shoot in some laneways on the Northside of Melbourne, so dodging the foot traffic was a little thrilling. Overall I had heaps of fun and even gained a bit of confidence. I would definitely do it again! xo Nina_M."

"Sie zieht sich aus. Zuerst die Sachen bei denen sie sich wohlfuehlt und dann immer mehr, zu den unangenehmen Stellen bis sie ganz nackt dasteht. Sie faengt an ihren koerper mit einem schwarzen Marker zu umranden. Die Form selbst formen, indem man sie ganz einfach umrandet. Die schwarzen Linien lasen jede Kurve, jede Stelle anders aussehen obwohl sie doch basiert auf echten Kurven sind. Auf dem echten Koerper sieht man sie nur niucht so wie bei einer Zeichnung. Bei der Zeichnung begrenzt und erschfft man den Koerper zugleich durch eine oder mehrere Linien. Der dreidimensionale Koerper hingegen bestimmt die eigene Umrandung durch den Winkel, den man sich aussucht und die Perspektive, die man von seinem eigenen Standpunkt oder dem Standpunkt der Kamera hat. Diese Bilderreihe zeigt meinen Koerper mit der umrandung, die ich frontal im Spiegel sehe. Siehst du, wie sich Formen, Linien und Bewegungen zueinander verhalten? / A girl gets undressed starting with the parts of her body she likes to show, building up to the personal and most uncomfortable parts for her to show. Once fully nude she is outlining her body with a black marker. Shaping a shape itself by outlining it. The black lines make every curve look different - they show shapes and lines based on the body which do exist but are not visible as that. Drawing a body is basically outlining it, we limit and restrict it with lines to create a figure. The real, three dimensional body's outlines are defined by the angle you choose to look at it from. These photographs are showing my body with the outlines I see frontal and in the mirror. Can you see how shapes, lines and movement interact by and with the angle?"

"In the beginning of shooting myself I felt super awkward and I told my partner about it and he was cool with it thankfully. He helped me a little with telling me what poses were good etc. After I finished the shoot I posted a sfw selfie on my instagram and captioned it about doing a shoot with ISM and my Aunt googled it and called my Mum and told her about what I was doing. Bit of a snitch! Ah well, Mum was cool with me doing this as long as I was safe! Love, Salem_T".

"Doing another shoot for I Shot Myself was just as fun as the first two. Only this time my environemnt was much more unique, I thought - "My God this is perfect!" I found an old building with some very strange and obscure furniture and I ended up shooting on an old doctor's bed. It was also fun playing with lighting and shadows on this one. Thanks so much ISM for all the fun! xx"

"I really enjoyed this shoot because I took most of the photos outside, around my house. It felt really nice to be naked outside in the sunshine and playing around with different settings, the sunlight and flowers. I found lots of cool new corners around my house that I have never noticed before. I also took some of the photos out the front of my house, I live on a quiet street, but I still felt super sneaky taking nudes and running into danger of my neighbours walking out the door, which made it even more fun. I loved this shoot, there is nothing better than being naked outside with the sun shining on your body."

"I found the shoot to be confronting, liberating and a raw exploration of myself. The shoot brought me a new found love of my body and myself, pushed my comfort-ability and sense of security, liberating my sense of self completely. All my flaws began to fall from my eyes and I held no disguise, uncompromising, unapologetic, naked."

"It was so fun shooting with old 70's Playboy magazines, although it was disappointing to find out the only bush was my own! Even though I've had my own fantasies about what it would be like to live in the Playboy mansion I'd never really read one of the magazines before today and I was shocked to find jokes and art and poetry with only the occasional tasteful nudes. It didn't look like objectification, well at least not in a submissive way, it looked like appreciation. These girls' smiles reached their eyes. And I guess I tried to convey, in the same way, my expression. I hope Hugh would be proud."

"I shot myself in my new room. New territory for me. Just as new as taking pictures of myself in the nude. I have taken the odd nude, but only very briefly and with much cringe. This was the first time that I felt absolutely comfortable jumping around naked in front of a camera. There is gorgeous light in my room, just next to my window. There's a small tree in front of it. I was under the impression that this tree would give me a little bit of privacy. Later on I discovered that you can look directly into my room, so a few of my neighbors might have seen my naked butt. But that's okay, it's a good one."

"Whilst shooting ISM I had just gotten into the swing of taking photos and was completely nude when I discovered I had set up directly next to a wasp's nest and swiftly grabbed my set up and relocated to another spot. It was a brisk Autumn morning when I shot, and it was rather frosty to be stripped bare but the overcast clouds made the lighting conditions really dynamic. I incorporated a mirror to explore angles and transform the scenes duplicating my surroundings with the reflections of nature."

"I believe that society creates norms on what the standard body 'type' should be and whether we realize it or not, we ingest that 'type' and use it as a standard to compare any and all bodies we encounter, I have realized that I too have unconsciously had this 'type' in the back of my mind. In order to break that, I decided I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and see my body in a new way: for what it really is. I think the body can be more than just sexy or awkward when completely nude. It can be elegant, twisted, and a reflection of your inner emotions. So I am not smiling in most of these photos, because I was not trying to appease the camera. This shoot was a self study, or contemplation, of my body, while taking various shapes and contrasting them with the surrounding greenery."

"I loved shooting outside in the garden, with the sunshine and the plants that make me feel so at ease. The naked body is something that is natural and beautiful and should be celebrated! I love adventure and trying new things, and this shoot was a great way to embrace that side of me. I had a great time doing this shoot and it made me feel empowered and turned on as well. I hope you enjoy looking at my photos as much as I loved taking them."

"For this second shoot I chose to be out in nature as that is something that I adore! It was also a great background. I felt so alive while being outdoors naked and free! I tried to keep my clothes on for as long as possible but being out there I just wanted to run around. I used this tree stump to help balance the mirror on and other objects that were around me. The weather was amazing that day and to top it off I could hear people playing music in the background. I had an amazing day!"

"I feel totally free and empowered being naked so as soon as I started this shoot I was in my element. I started in a black choker because I love channeling my inner dom. The angles proved challenging with my short arms and the whole shoot made me feel super vulnerable but I enjoyed being out of my comfort zone. I did my shoot in my friend's apartment whilst he was at work, the potential of being walked in on whilst shooting made it that extra bit exciting for me! Luckily he never came home though, lol."

"This was my third shoot and I felt that I became way more open and accepting of my body since the first shoot. I just wanted to portray my body as it is while not caring about its flaws and being wild and open and experimental."
