"Well it's a bit scary being so nude. It was such an interesting and liberating experience, I discovered so many things about myself, so many freckles that I didn't know existed. Specifically the one right next to my bum hole, I think it's my new favourite! I took these photos in the places where I feel at home over the course of a few days. I was was surprised at how creative I could be with a mirror, as well as how many times I dropped the camera on my face! What an empowering experience, fueled by self love gratitude."

"It's been a while since my last shoot. Things have changed, my hair's longer, I've grown into myself a bit more. I'm learning more. Same home, loving the garden, it's super lush this time of year, there are countless edible species that appear out of the grass as the cool weather sets in and I've been spending my days foraging and walking around barefoot. The wet lawn was lovely to lie in, exciting, calming and soothing altogether. Joyously rolling around half clothed just out of view of the kitchen window. I feel beautiful and free, like this morning I have confronted my body in its endless angles and beauty and said - 'You are wonderful and I love you'."

"I shot myself at my home, in my room. I like to do it in the day time when my mother is out or in the evening. While I was shooting, my mother returned home, so I needed to finish it quickly. Frankly I felt very excited thinking that somebody will admire me."

"Fue un desafio encontrar el lugar correcto para poner la camara para filmar y sentir que tenia que prestar atencion a dos focos a la vez, pero fuera de eso, me diverti mucho. Tambien me gusto poder expresarme con mi propia voz, mi tono, mi vibracion y mis palabras, me lo tome como un espacio de monologo para compartir mis ideas y sensaciones mas alla de la expresion fisica que tienen las fotografias./ It was a challenge to find the right place to put the camera to film and feel that I had to pay attention to two lights at once, but outside of that, I had a lot of fun. I also liked being able to express myself with my own voice, my tone, my vibration and my words, I took it as a monologue space to share my ideas and feelings beyond the physical expression that photographs have."

"I shot this in my own home so, a place I felt safe to be vulnerable and experiment with my body. I wanted to try and incorporate my dancing background into the shoot which turned out to be a little more challenging than I thought. What I really loved was that this shoot gave me a boost of self love and confidence! Being able to see my body from another perspective, to see it as an art form was cathartic for me and gave me even more appreciation for my body."

"I'm back ISM! Did you miss me? I missed you. I've always wanted to shoot myself in my family's backyard. Being home during this self-isolation period gave me the perfect opportunity. I had to be very quick. And sneaky, waiting for my Mum to leave to buy groceries before dashing around to get myself set up. The kitty kat isn't mine! He kept nosing around so I assumed he wanted to be included. I've made a new friend. Enjoy. xx"

"I took these photos in my room in Thailand, around late afternoon, wanting the shoot to be as simple and natural as possible - just the real me, owning my body. I've found such a peaceful atmosphere in Thailand, and being here has made me want to reflect on myself a lot more, especially regarding how I view and treat myself. I was able to explore so much more of my body through doing this shoot, and have found a new respect for its form. My body has loved and supported me for so many years, and it's about time I accepted it! After the shoot, I felt a strong sense of empowerment."

"The cello is a powerful instrument that has the same tambre (tone register) as the human voice and that is why it can have a profound impact on people emotionally. The way it is held, between the legs, allows it to become part of the players body and move with their movements. This particular cello was interesting to use because of the white colour and jagged shape compared to a typical wooden cello. The cello is a very traditionally feminine instrument, it challenged the idea of femininity and sensuality with the jagged angles and non-traditional colour and finish. It's glossy, jagged, and challenges feminine 'norms' - much like many modern women (myself included)."

"Shooting myself was an epic experience. I had so much fun having an excuse to be naked in public!! I got such a buzz from finding different locations and trying not to be spotted by people! I did get spotted naked on my bike by a stunned looking guy though :P Feeling confident with my naked self on camera did take some getting used to, I guess I haven't taken that many nudes so finding angles that were sexy, different and expressive was fun! I've never been a big fan of my face in photos so that was something that I had to get used to, but by the end I felt a lot more confident and empowered. Boom!"

"No senti verguenza en ningun momento, estuve super comoda, de echo hice algunas fotos en callejones, con gente pasando todo el tiempo, en casa estuve cerca de amigos todo el tiempo, la pase muy bien y me alegra haber venido! Fue una experiencia exelente. / I felt no shame at any time, I was super comfortable, in fact I took some photos in alleys, with people going by all the time. At home I was close to friends the whole time, I had a great time and I'm glad I did it! It was an excellent experience."

"I had such a great time with this project - I feel that the duration of the filming and the mix of visual and audio allowed for more of an insight into who I am. I'd seen several other submissions for this project and felt immediately connected to whoever was filming. I felt like they were talking to me as a friend; this is something I tried to keep in mind when filming for my own project."

"This shoot was super fun and I was excited about being outdoors, as I spent heaps of time in the bush as a kid and now spend most of my time in the city. The shoot was invigorating and really engaged my playful, carefree side. There were challenges... it rained and I nearly ate a leech which had slithered into my mouth, but I think this added to my presence and energy during the process. Haha. I wanted to keep this one lighthearted, while still paying attention to parts of my body that I have found difficult to accept in the past. Xxx"

"When approaching ISM, I thought a lot about what I wanted to portray, my true self. I spent a lot of time in the past year lazing on my couch, gazing at the trees outside as seasons changed. On that couch relationships began and ended, many deep conversations were had with people I love and glasses of wine and meals shared. I grew a lot on that couch, and I as if it is almost an extension of myself, so it felt like the right location for my shoot. Additionally, I gathered the plants in my apartment to try and mimic the view of the trees that I spent so much time gazing at. I am quite a chilled out person, I love to laze around, and I hope I have portrayed this side of myself within this piece of work."

"My last ishotmyself photo set was over four years ago, and my life looks very different now than it did then. At the time I was living in Paris and I took the photos while on a romantic getaway. However this photo set was taken in my own backyard. This time felt much more intimate for me - it was in my own space, and I felt more able to be naturally me. I've grown more into my own skin in the past few years, and I think my confidence and comfort in my own body really shines through in these photos."

Izzy_A//"strip_yourself"
"How to strip oneself of social conditioning and the weight of others opinions? The way I escape these ties is to be in nature and practice creativity. Art allows me the freedom to play, to co-exist with an idea, to be the subject but view myself objectively in the world. The practice of working for something higher than self, bigger than perception. It's rare we get to be true humans in the modern world, so to create new worlds through art gives me the sense of being a baby with so much to learn, to feel small and at the whim of the natural world or an idea is a powerful thing. Pleasure, passion, pain and art are one for me. I feel most desirable when I exercise my creative brain, this is inspired by the biological wonders of our planet, all life, all symbiotic relationships and cycles that persist in a world we have tried to control. Nature will prevail, art will tell the story, loving ourselves will help us to love the mother."
