"I think that some of the most beautiful things I've ever made have been complete accidents. I tangled my body in strips of light and let the simple shapes it created inspire me as I went along. There were a lot of blurry shots, a lot of dark shots, a lot of outtakes. But what kept driving me was that I knew that once these photos were up on IShotMyself, it would be a beautiful collage of lines, shapes, and shades of blue, and would look just as much like an abstract painting as it would look like my big, beautiful nude body."

"Hey y'all, I'm Sally! It is a super hot day in the southern U.S so getting naked was just what I needed. When I started to shoot it was around lunch time and I was very hungry, and very hot, so a nice chocolate pop was perfect for my shoot. It tasted really yummy and felt so lovely dripping cold drops down my body. It was a little sticky so I made sure to wash myself up at the end. The silliest part of the shoot was keeping my doggy away while she tried to lick me clean. But she can't have chocolate I guess I'll have to leave the licking up to you."

"For this shoot, I wanted to experiment with different mirrors to capture different perspectives. I shot this shoot in my room as I was able to get a few hours of really nice natural light, even though the skies have been very grey at the moment, and it was super fun to see how the lighting was different in different angles/mirror surfaces. Whilst I was shooting the construction workers in my neighbouring backyard were using a jackhammer and I had to position myself in certain ways as to not get caught because my bedroom window is in full view. I'll admit I really enjoyed the sneakiness of it all."

"I shot this photo set in my apartment at 10am. I was sleepy! I had breakfast, walked the dog, anointed my face with cream, and started shooting. What happened? Several times I almost fell off the couch, got entangled in my clothes, and right in the middle of filming, my dog decided she wanted to play with me! She in every possible way climbed into the frame and interfered with taking photos. I had to interrupt myself and play with her. Then I had to wait, because Ariseli (that's my dog's name) decided that she wanted to hug. It happens. My shooting was interrupted by a fun game."

"After almost a year after my second shoot, it was amazing to discover there were still poses and different angles of my body that I hadn't seen before. The sunshine and friendly atmosphere definitely made this shoot something special. I shot this portfolio around 6pm as the sun was starting to sink and people were heading home from work. The balcony I shot on overlooks a busy street so it was quite thrilling to shoot myself nude while unsuspecting people commuted below."

"I shot my folio this afternoon in my new place. I have only been living here for 2 and a half weeks so I was excited to try out the lighting and use the space. I started the shoot in the early afternoon and made my way up from my bedroom to the top level where the windows create beautiful afternoon light. I had a lot of fun with the mirror shots in particular, often I can get self-conscious of my body but I actually really loved seeing my rolls when making weird positions! I was a bit nervous about being so naked in front of huge windows on a busy street, but no one seemed to look up from their eye level. Even if they had I don't think it would have stopped me."

"Hey! So this photoshoot was in my friend's house. It was my second photoshoot so I thought it might be hard to find more creative ideas and poses, but it was really easy surprisingly. The room was awesome and I loved using the 2 mirrors that were there in different angles and positions, using the reflection sometimes with one and sometimes with two of them. I also loved playing with the shades and sun and the plants in the room."

"I shot this folio in my little apartment. I spent a lot of time thinking about arranging my body amongst my tiny room with the racks of clothes and book shelves. I found that it was difficult to shoot photos as a selfie especially being used to having others shoot the photos of me instead. Every now and then I would find a really cool pose or idea which I'd spend a while taking photos on. I originally thought that I'd get a lot of circus and dance pictures in but that proved to be hard with one hand. I ended up often having a more provincial theme instead."

"Me senti brillante, me senti luz, me senti en paz y relajada. Con eso en mi mente, me mentalize a mi misma entre sol, jugando con reflejos, colores y objetos. / I feel bright, I feel light, I feel peaceful and relaxed. And in my mind I was thinking about all these beautiful strong women that wake up every day and walk, they give birth, they fight, they create, and they are capable to stand up every time, even in the most difficult times. With that in my mind, I picture myself between the sun, playing with reflections, colors, objects."

"I did this shoot in my bedroom, the only space of privacy that I can call my own. It was mid-morning when I started, as this is when the sunlight comes directly into my room, and my household is at its quietest. My bedroom opens up to the backyard, so in reality it isn't particularly private (the neighbours can also see in), so a breach of privacy was always playing on my mind when I was shooting myself. I felt comfortable seeing myself nude, but I wasn't comfortable with others seeing me - it really highlighted the importance of consent to me. Somewhat unexpectedly my father came out to the backyard, so I had to sneakily go about shooting myself. It was an interesting exercise in creativity! I felt great afterwards, so comfortable, confident and self-assured."

Wenn du die Tuer hinter dir geschlossen hast, zergehe ich endlich in mir selbst. Haenge Waesche auf, rieche das Gras, halte meinen Kopf unter Wasser...haettest du eine Ahnung, was du verpasst, du wueredest mich nie wieder verlassen. Du und deine Besitzansprueche. Ha!

Dear Mr. G, Left behind? To be home alone means freedom instead. Shedding shells, clothes. My skin belongs to me and no one else, I make the decisions. Once you've closed the door behind you, I finally melt within myself. Hang the laundry, smell the grass, holding my head under water, ah pleasure...if you had any idea what you are missing out on, you'd never leave me again. You and your claims of possesion. Ha!

"I had NEVER taken a naked photo before this and to say I was awkward and shy at the beginning would be the understatement of the century! I found myself critiquing the way I looked in the first few photos and deleting ones because I didn't think they were conventionally attractive enough. By about photo 80 I kinda just thought fuck it. I stopped looking at the photos after each one to see if they were good enough and just went for it! I ventured from the safety of my room to my balcony which was a pretty big step, seeming as literally anyone could see me and I don’t doubt a few poor fellas copped an eyeful. Apologies to them! I've found an exciting new way to express myself and I have to say I'm loving myself sick at the moment if it's not too bold of me to say!"

"I actually do not look in the mirror a lot. I don't see myself naked ever but seeing what I really look like? That was a big step. I was deleting a lot of photos and then I stopped and thought - "Why am I deleting? This is what I look like". I'm pretty afraid of vaginas too so taking a photo of it - it was like meeting an old friend for the first time! I feel like I'm part of a special club now that I've taken naked pictures of myself. I feel different but I can't really say why - it's just within myself I think. My thought process was like - "Okay go on the couch and see how you can fold yourself up on it!" because it's hard to make every picture different."

"I moved overseas this year, to Canada, and found myself a stranger in a new country. Having a hard time feeling anchored, grounded, in this new life. Fortunately, the same sun shines everywhere! I am, and probably always will be in a love affair with sun beams. Holographic fun, rainbows, sparkles, light rays and sun spots playing on my skin are the ultimate turn on."

"Since this was my first time doing anything like this, it took me a very long time to figure out how best to do it. I felt uninspired at first, but the more I looked at the photos of my body the more I was encouraged. For this "first time" shoot, I thought the mostly white back drop was fitting, I tried with some props but was mostly satisfied with just my body as the focus. I did it for so long that I forgot to eat. Most unusual for me. I'm sure my neighbours saw. They should be so lucky."
