"I decided to use some fabric I had around the house, which was an idea that was inspired by the Renaissance and Baroque eras. Many paintings and sketches from these times featured draped fabrics, with models placed among them. They lend a certain romance to any portrait or shoot, and create lovely dynamics in the differing textures and the way they catch the light. With the white lace fabric, in particular, I was struck by how it compared with classical depictions of Mother Mary - I found it very interesting to do a nude shoot whilst having the echoes of what has long been upheld as the 'ideal woman' in the West."
