The gap between the 2 statements is very important in establishing that. Viva why did you edit it out when you quoted him.

I saw Blondie at a music festival about 9 or 10 years ago. The band was tight and excellent and Debbie was still babeing out (in her late 50's I think) but these dudes I was standing next to just kept going on about how old she looked. There was no mention of how old any of the mens on stage looked. So gross.

Okay so this picture of Debbie Harry made me incredibly uncomfortable because I suspected it had been photoshopped to make her look at best naked under her t-shirt (and waxed! come on photoshopper dude it was the 70's, no one waxed back then, duh) and at worst like a teenager. Google tells me she's wearing purple leggings at this show and so I'd like to say a big fuck you to whoever decided to hijack not only this image but Debby Harry's sexuality too.

Images are submissive paranoid and if you wanna fuck an image of Debbie Harry that you have in your head that's totally cool but just remember that it's not really Debbie Harry and for this reason you should keep your version of her in your own head, ain't nobody got time for that shit!

And now I defer to Virginia Wolf because like me she was utterly fucking sick of dudes commandeering the likeness of women and then plastering this man version of woman likeness all over the public sphere. I don't think that image has been photo-shopped aven, i think what we're all responding to is a fabulous shot of some amazing camel-toe. I still hold that Debbie Harry is a babe at any age. Sorry I avoided addressing the issue paranoid, there is a bit of an issue with comments like that but I'm going to talk about it in another thread...

@blissed; played a gig with the Barons too. Their accordianist is leaving but only to study more. He dates one of my flatmates and lives in a fabulous sharehouse which also contains a few ISM contributors... No you're right. I messed up. I didn't pay attention to my words. If it's a camel-toe the illusion was almost perfect.
